Scott grew up in Lake Orion Michigan and graduated high school in Mt. Pleasant South Carolina. He began working in the hospitality industry at a young age as a dishwasher and quickly became interested in cooking. He cooked at various restaurants in the Charleston SC area before moving back home to Michigan. He earned a culinary degree from Oakland Community College and continued his tutorage in various kitchens around the Detroit area. In 2001 he became the personal chef for Gov. John Engler at the Michigan Governor’s Summer Residence on Mackinac Island. He continued that journey throughout the first two years of office for Gov. Jennifer Granholm. She offered him an opportunity in Lansing where he remained throughout the remainder of her term. He now owns a food trailer and enjoys self employment. When he’s not navigating the challenges of business ownership he enjoys traveling, backpacking, skiing, live music, good food and great friends.
